Courtside Notes: Falcons ready to move to 8-0 in NACC play

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin hosts Dominican, who is a four-time NACC Tournament Champion, on Saturday at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

CUW PLAYER TO WATCH: Megan Mayer is playing well over the last three matches, helping the Falcons stay atop the NACC standings. She has 29 kills in the last week and is hitting .297 during that stretch. As well, she has 25 digs and four block assists in the last three matches.

IN A GROOVE: It takes but a split second to look at the schedule and notice the Falcons are in a groove, with two three-match winning streaks over the past three weeks.

OFFENSE CLICKING: Concordia Wisconsin's offense has been firing on all cylinders during NACC matches, leading the league in kills per set (13.18) and assists per set (12.05). They are also second in hitting percentage (.213).

HISTORY IN THE MAKING: Don't talk too much about it so you jinx it, but the Falcons could make history tonight by starting 8-0 in conference play for the first time in program history. Last year they started 7-0 before losing.

SWEEPING TO A RECORD: The Falcons have their sights set on achieving a new program record for the number of 3-0 victories in a season. Entering tonight's match versus Dominican, they have 13 wins ending in a 3-0 decision. The program's single-season record is 17 victories by sweep obtained during the 2014 season when Concordia Wisconsin won a program-record 24 matches.
