Women’s Track & Field finishes fourth at Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Falcons posted a strong performance at the Carroll Pioneer Invitational under the sun on Thursday. The Blue and White finished in fourth place with 67 points.

Senior Jennifer Miller (Freedom, Wis.) was the individual champion at pole vault, clearing 3.25 meters.

Senior Irene Bolis (Marengo, Ill.) placed second in the 400-meter dash at 1:13.47.

Sophomore Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.) posted a result of 10.23 meters in the triple jump to finish in third place.

The Falcons posted a back-to-back finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Irene Bolis led CUW in third place at 16.60 and freshman Anastasia Hoeg (New Berlin, Wis.) clocked in at 16.71.

Sophomore Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) led the flock in the shot put in fourth place at 12.15 meters. The discus throw saw Curran finish in seventh place at 36.82 meters.

In the high jump, junior Nicole Veldhorst (Cedar Grove, Wis.) cleared 1.49 meters to finish in fifth place.

Senior Chloe Eckstein posted a throw of 40.72 meters in the hammer throw in sixth place.

Sophomore Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 13.14 in the 100-meter dash in sixth place. Her second sixth-place finish of the day came in the 200-meter dash at 27.27.

In the 800-meter run, freshman Emma Verbeke (Appleton, Wis.) finished in seventh place at 2:40.13.

Freshman Mackenzie Dorth (West Bend, Wis.) finished 14th in the 1500-meter run at 5:37.34.

Freshman Ndeye Thiam (Grayslake, Ill.) leapt 4.15 meters in the long jump to finish in 14th place.

The Falcons will compete at the Wisconsin Private College Championship on April 6.
