Imperl's 5,000-meter win highlights Women's Track & Field Friday

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Nora Imperl won the 5,000-meter run, leading the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Track & Field team Friday at the Augustana Invitational. The Falcons placed 12th as a team in the event, which featured several top teams from the region.

THE BASICS

12th (31.75 points)

- Individual Champions: Imperl (5,000)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Imperl ran a strong race in the 5,000-meter run, completing it in 18:00.11 for the individual win. She bested the field of 32 runners for her individual title.

- Irene Bolis had a top-eight finish for the Falcons on the track, placing seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. She ran a 16.63.

- The rest of the Falcons scoring performances came in field events, highlighted by a fourth-place finish from Jennifer Miller in the pole vault. Miller cleared 3.22 meters.

- CUW had two top-six finishers in the triple jump, led by Alden Goucher who placed fifth (10.40 meters). Teammate Morgan Marnholtz was right behind Goucher, leaping 10.38 meters.

- Nicole Veldhorst tied for seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters. The Falcons had two eighth-place finishes in throwing events: Megan Curran in the shot put (12.04 meters) and Christine Swoboda in the javelin throw (30.83 meters).
