RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The CUW women's soccer season came to an end on Tuesday afternoon in the NACC Tournament Semifinal match. The Falcons were defeated by the No. 1 seed Dominican, 4-1.
"I thought we played very well in the first half," said head coach Ryan Middendorf. But we just could not overcome a very determined and organized Dominican team in the second half. I couldn't be more proud to have been the coach of this senior class. They have meant a tremendous amount to this program and helped me to personally grow as a coach and as a person. They have certainly left this program in a better place."
Sophomore Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) scored the lone Falcon goal in the 26th minute.
Senior Nicole Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) was credited with the assist.
Dominican responded with three goals in a 1:35 stretch to gain control of the match.
Ciesielczyk led the Falcons with two shots.
Sophomore Olivia Kindt (Dyer, Ind.) recorded six saves on Tuesday.
Dominican outshot CUW, 22-3. The Stars finished with 10 shots on goal.
