Freshman Scores Twice to Beat Falcons

Behind a two goal performance by freshman Rachel Jason, the Carthage College Lady Reds knocked of the Concordia Falcons 3-0, Thursday in Kenosha.

Jason put Carthage on the board just nine minutes into the game, before Jen Carlson made it 2-0 in the 85th minute. Nearly four minutes later, Jason put in her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Maria Korosis, sealing the deal and dropping CUW to 2-3 on the year.

Concordia got outshot 14-6, including 11-4 in shots on goal. Emily Waldorf and Becky Ott each fired two shots apiece, while goalkeeper Mary Ryan made eight saves in 90 minutes for Ryan Middendorf's squad.

The Falcons, predicted to finish fourth out of 13 in the Northern Athletics Conference, begin league play on Saturday, looking to bounce back against the Alverno College Inferno (3-1) from Fitting Field at 4pm.
