MEQUON, Wis. – Sean Ambrocio won all three of his matches to lead the Concordia University Wisconsin wrestling team on Saturday afternoon at the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons won their first dual, 25-15, over UW-Eau Claire before falling 32-13 to UW-Oshkosh and 42-4 to St. John's University.
Ambrocio (sophomore, San Antonio, Texas) earned a decision victory, 10-5, to begin the day before picking up two major decision wins, 14-2 and 17-4. The 125-pounder improved his overall record to 17-5 and 6-2 in dual matches.
The Falcons dual match record falls to 2-6 after Saturday's competition.
Freshman Kevin Ambrocio (San Antonio, Texas) earned his first two victories of the season with a forfeit win versus UW-Eau Claire and an 8-3 decision against UW-Oshkosh at 133 pounds.
Sophomore Casey Kenealy (Hartford, Wis.) also won two matches on Saturday. He won by major decision, 13-1, against UW-Eau Claire prior to earning a victory by fall (2:47) – his second of the season - against UW-Oshkosh at 174 pounds. He improved his overall record to 14-12 and 5-3 in dual matches.
The Falcons return to the mat next Saturday when they travel to Wheaton, Ill., for duals against host Wheaton College, North Central College and Manchester College.
