WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin was chosen to win the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference according to the preseason poll, voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Falcons captured their second-consecutive MWLC title last year with a perfect 9-0 record in conference play (15-3 overall) and won the league's tournament title for the second straight season. CUW received 10 of the 12 first-place votes and 120 total points in the preseason poll.

Illinois Institute of Technology was second with 109 points and a top vote while Aurora was tabbed third with 100 points and the final first-place vote. Augsburg was fourth with 85 points, Hamline was fifth with 82 and Benedictine was sixth with 72.

Wartburg was selected seventh with 60, Beloit eighth with 54 and Loras ninth with 33. Concordia Chicago (27), Monmouth (26) and Cornell (24) rounded out the final three spots in the poll.

The MWLC's regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the four-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
