Augustana controls Women's Lacrosse in MWLC matchup

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana College controlled Concordia University Wisconsin from start to finish on Wednesday night to earn a 23-4 victory during a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference game at Thorson-Luken Field.

The contest was close for the first 10 minutes as both team were knotted at 3-3, until the Vikings went on a 10-1 scoring run to end the opening half. AC ended the game with a decisive 54-14 shots advantage and picked up nine more (25-14) ground balls than CUW (2-2, 2-1 MWLC).

Junior Aly Pinkos (South Milwaukee, Wis.) scored a career-high three goals, while sophomore Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) added two assists and a goal, along with five draw control wins.

Christina Letmanski led all players with six goals for AC (6-3, 2-0 MWLC). Kendall Maduro and Emily Handrahan each tallied four goals, while Allie Roehrenbeck finished with a hat trick.

The loss was the worst defeat since a 23-4 game against Augustana College on March 24, 2012.
