Women's Lacrosse chosen fifth in MWLC Preseason Coaches' Poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin was chosen to finish in fifth place in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced.

Coaches predicted Augustana University would win the league after receiving 62 points and seven first-place votes. Carthage College was second with 57 points and North Central College received 51 points, while both school's had one first-place vote.

The College of Mount St. Joseph had 42 points for fourth place and CUW was in fifth place with 38 points.

The Falcons finished the 2012 season with a 3-11 overall record and a 2-4 league record, both improvements from the season prior. CUW have gone from last in the MWLC poll in 2011 to a tie for seventh in 2012, to fifth in the 2013 MWLC Preseason Coaches' Polls.

Fontbonne University was sixth with 25 points. MWLC newcomers Aurora University (20 points), Beloit College (19 points) and Benedictine University (10 points) finished seventh, eighth and ninth respectively. All three teams are entering their inaugural season.
