MEQUON, Wis. - Playing in just their second Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference matchup so far this season, the Concordia University Wisconsin women's lacrosse team suffered a 13-6 defeat at the hands of North Central College (Ill.) on Tuesday afternoon at Fitting Field.

CUW (1-6, 1-1 MWLC) found itself in a 9-3 hole at halftime, and were never able to recover despite two goals each from freshman Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) and Marie Melton (Prior Lake, Minn.).

North Central (3-5, 1-0 MWLC) got a five-goal performance from Danielle Fiala, and cruised to the victory despite only outshooting the Falcons 31-28.

The Cougars were issued three separate yellow card penalties, but CUW was unable to capitalize on any of their man-advantages.

The Falcons got on the board just three and a half minutes into the game with a goal from Melton, but North Central responded with five unanswered goals to put itself firmly in the driver's seat.

CUW also got goals from freshmen Stephanie Barry (Gurnee, Ill.) and Aly Pinkos (South Milwaukee, Wis.), both of whom tallied in the first half of play.

Reiter was playing in her first game since being honored as MWLC Player of the Week on Monday, and scored two second-half goals to go with two assists.

Next up for the Falcons is a trip to Chicago, Ill., on Friday for road game against Robert Morris University. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
