Pattengale named to Team of the Week

Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey goaltender Christina Pattengale has been named to the Team of the Week, the website announced Wednesday morning. Pattengale adds to her list of weekly honors, which included being named the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week.

Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) recorded 35 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over Marian Saturday, helping the Falcons secure a weekend sweep.

The junior was especially impressive when the Falcons were on the penalty kill, helping her team kill off eight of nine Marian power play opportunities. Among those was a two-minute 5-on-3 for the Sabres, which started late in the opening stanza.

Joining Pattengale on the Team of the Week were defenders Vanessa VanBuskrik (Salem State) and Kasandra Petersen (Chatham), along with forwards Sophie McGovern (Norwich), Sarah Bobrowski (Hamline), and Bek Lucas (Neumann). The release from can be found here.

Pattengale and the Falcons are on the road this weekend for two games at St. Norbert. The opener is set for Friday at 7 p.m.
