1-0 Shutout loss ends CUW women’s hockey season

Concordia's offense was silent in the season finale against Adrian today as the Falcons got off only 18 shots in a 1-0 loss. Host Adrian advances to the tourney semi-finals via a 3-1 goal advantage over two games. "Their goalie was very good. We got initial shots on goal but no rebounds were available to us," explained Coach Jim Ingman.

Since elevating their record to 9-9-2 with a sweep of Marian three weeks ago, CUW has been unable to put pucks in the net consistently during seven consecutive season-ending losses, five of those by a single goal.

"We have been right there with every team and I saw significant progress from the beginning to the end of the season," said Ingman. "We are on the verge of breaking into that elite group at the top of our conference."

Concordia's all-league goalie Lea Jondal was outstanding once again with 33 saves.
