Men’s Lacrosse picked for sixth in MLC preseason poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Entering their second year of competition, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's lacrosse team was picked to finish in a tie for sixth place in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference preseason coaches poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

Adrian College was the coaches choice to win the conference after receiving eight first-place votes and 78 total points. The Bulldogs won the 2011 MLC regular season with an 8-0 record, and also captured the conference tournament, finishing with a 15-3 overall record.

Carthage College finished second in the voting with 64 points, while Aurora University and the College of Mount St. Joseph each received one first-place vote to earn third and fourth place spots respectively.

CUW was tied with Fontbonne University, tallying 42 total points to tie for sixth place in the pre-season guessing game. The Falcons finished their first year of collegiate lacrosse last season with an 8-6 overall record and a 3-5 record in MLC play.

2011 All-MLC Second Team honoree Danny Dahms (sophomore, Calgary, Alberta) returns after leading the team with 30 goals. The midfielder tallied 39 points for the Falcons, while shooting .588 on goal.

Also returning for CUW is sophomore midfielder Justin Krause (Hartland, Wis.) who was tabbed 2011 All-MLC Honorable Mention after scoring 14 goals and assisting on eight more. He also won .448 percent of his faceoffs.

Last season CUW was picked to finish ninth in the MLC preseason poll and ended the season in sixth.
