ASHLAND, Wis. – Nick Guerra scored two goals and Taylor Gauld added the game-winner, all three scores coming in the second period, as the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team picked up a 3-2 win over Northland Saturday. Nick Guiney played a big role in the second period as well, assisting on all three of the Falcons scores.

- Final Score:
Concordia Wisconsin 3, Northland 2
- Location: Bay Area Civic Center – Ashland, Wisconsin
- Records: Concordia Wisconsin 10-5-2, 6-4 NCHA; Northland 6-9-2, 3-6-1 NCHA

- It was a good second period for the Falcons, especially for those whose last name starts with a "G". Trailing 1-0 after the opening period, Guerra (Victoria, British Columbia) scored two goals two minutes apart for a 2-1 Falcons lead. Guiney assisted on each score with Gauld adding an assist on the second goal.

- Gauld (Whitby, Ontario) tallied the game-winning score with 7:50 left in the second period with Guiney (Victoria, British Columbia) netting his third assist of the night. Justin Coachman (Rochester, N.Y.) added an assist on the Gauld goal as well.

- With 40 seconds left in the second, Northland cut the Falcons lead to one on a score by Max Glashauser. Glashauser's goal was the final one of the evening, as Nick Malvin and the Falcons defense held strong in the third period to hold on for the one-goal victory.

- Malvin (Ham Lake, Minn.) finished the game with 27 saves, including a perfect third period with 11 stops. The Lumberjacks played two goalies on Saturday, Victor Forslund stopping 19 shots (two goals allowed) while AJ Smith made 15 saves (one goal allowed).

- Both teams were whistled for three penalties Saturday and both finished the game 0-for-3 on the power play.

- The win secures the fourth double-digit win season in CUW Men's Hockey history. Head Coach Jasen Wise took over a program in 2012-13 with zero double-digit win seasons and has guided the Falcons to 10 or more wins in four of his first six seasons.

- The Falcons will return home next weekend for a pair of NCHA games. CUW will host Trine Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Ozaukee Ice Center.
