MEQUON, Wis. Retiring Concordia Wisconsin men's golf coach Ray Engelking has a wish for his successor.  "I hope he can find a couple of 'Eric Hertel types' to work with."

"Eric (Sr./ Franklin, Wis.) has played in every single scheduled CUW match since the beginning of his freshman year," explained Engelking.

No other Falcon golfer came close to the level of dedication that Hertel displayed, according to Engelking.  "Sometimes you do not need to be a Medalist, Conference Champ, or All American in order to be worthy of recognition."

Hertel averaged 83.6 in 11 separate rounds this season, his lowest overall score in those four seasons of competition.  "He was 100% dependable and became a good golfer because he worked at it," finalized Engelking.
