Damaschke earns NAC Player of the Week honor

MILWAUKEE - Freshman quarterback Austin Damaschke earned Northern Athletics Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday night, for his offensive performance during Concordia University Wisconsin's 20-7 conference victory over Aurora University last Saturday, Oct. 22.

Damaschke (Bristol, Wis.) completed 18-of-32 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 38 yards on 12 carries, while his longest completion during the victory was 38 yards.

The strong-armed right-hander has thrown for 900 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. The rookie signal caller has thrown just three interceptions, while the majority of his statistics have come during the last four games, which he has started consecutively.

His 10 TDs thrown ranks tied for third in the league, while his 900 yards passing ranks sixth. He has also rushed for 81 yards on 32 carries this season.

The weekly award is the second of the season for CUW. Sophomore running back Joseph Paul (West Bend, Wis.) earned the honor after running for 225 yards on 17 carries, a 13.2 average, and one touchdown during a 59-7 victory over Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Oct. 10.
