Preview: UWSP visits Falcons for pair of non-conference games

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Baseball will play its first non-conference games since March 27 as the Falcons welcome UW-Stevens Point to Kapco Park for two Tuesday.

The Falcons traveled to Rockford Monday to finish a halted game from April 2...CUW held off the Regents in a wild finish, winning 9-8 in 13 innings...Seniors Scott Plachinski and Drew Underwager have been in a zone out of the bullpen for the Falcons...Plachinski has delivered six straight scoreless appearances with three wins and three saves during that stretch...Underwager has two straight scoreless appearances, throwing 6.1 scoreless with a 1-0 record.

UWSP played its first home games of the 2018 season this past weekend, four wins against Illinois Tech...The Pointers have been built on pitching this season, boasting a 2.98 ERA, good for 16th nationally...UWSP is receiving votes in the latest Top 25 Poll and was fourth in last week's Midwest Regional rankings...The Falcons are 5-1 against teams that were in the top eight of last week's Midwest Regional rankings (No. 1 Concordia Chicago, No. 6 Aurora, and No. 8 Benedictine).
