The Concordia baseball team officially began its preparation for the 2010 season on Monday, opening up practice to all athletes interested in playing on this year's team. With the Arizona trip only about a month away, it's not too early to start predicting what may unfold this spring in the Northern Athletics Conference.
D3baseball.com, gave their take on the Northern Athletics Conference and showed the Falcons some love:
"Concordia (Wis.) is led by 2009 Northern AC Player of the Year and D3baseball.com preseason All-American outfielder Jon Olla (led nation with a .602 OBP). However, the Falcons (22-17, 14-8) must pitch better to contend. Last year the team had a 7.84 ERA and allowed opponents to bat .344. Then again Concordia (Wis.) swept UW-Whitewater to end last season, so the talent is there to beat the region's elite."
The Falocn season gets underway on March 12th, with a doubleheader against Wartburg College in Arizona.
