NCATA releases Preseason Coaches Poll

The National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) released its 2018 Preseason Coaches Friday. The Concordia University Wisconsin Acrobatics and Tumbling team is predicted to finish 11th this upcoming season.

The Falcons are coming off a program-best 5-2 campaign in 2017 and will challenge themselves with a difficult schedule this year. The first four competitions, which are all scheduled between now and February 12, feature opponents all predicted inside the top six in the preseason poll. CUW received 109 points in the preseason poll for their 11th place slot.

Included in the difficult schedule is a three-game home stretch (February 5-12) against the top three teams in the 2018 Preseason Poll. Defending national champion Baylor was predicted to repeat, receiving 283 poll points and 11 first-place votes. The Falcons will host Baylor on February 10 at 7 p.m.

Oregon was slotted second, receiving six first-place votes and 277 points. The Falcons home opener is against the Ducks on Monday, February 5 at 5 p.m. CUW will also host Azusa Pacific (February 12 – 7 p.m.), who was picked third with 246 points.

The Falcons open their season Saturday at Gannon, who was predicted to finish sixth.
