GLENDALE, Wis. – The College of St. Scholastica blanked Concordia University Wisconsin, 9-0, in a non-conference women's tennis match on Friday night at the Paley Tennis Center. The match was the first in the spring season for the Falcons.
Junior Catherine Schotte (Pratt, Kan.) took her opponent the furthest for CUW (9-3), but dropped the No. 6 singles matches 6-4, 6-4.
"This was by far the strongest team we have seen throughout the year, and unfortunately we had to play them after our long winter break without practices," head coach Steve Anschutz. "I saw some great points and a lot of the matches were much closer than the score shows. We just unfortunately were losing those critical points to get games. I think this match will be great motivation for us to get back into the shape we were during the fall and it gives us a clearer direction moving forward."
CUW returns to the court on Mar. 24 when it begins a five-match spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C.
