CUW Women’s Tennis Preview

Mequon, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin's women's tennis squad finished in a three-way tie for first place (10-1) in NAC regular season standings last season. CUW may have a difficult time duplicating that feat, however, due to several roster defections. Kaitlyn Strehow, conference single champion at #1 with a 12-1 record, has transferred along with Elina Maki, who was 8-4 at #4 singles.

The Falcon cupboard is far from bare, however. Top CUW returnees include Meagan Harrington (So. Kingsford MI/Kingsford) who finished 9-4 at #2; Julie Spransy (Jr. Brown Deer, WI/ Brown Deer) who put together a 9-5 mark at #3, Kristine Weber (So. Rochester Hills, MI Lutheran Northwest) who compiled an 8-6 record at #5; and Callie Reinke (Jr. West Allis/Martin Luther) who finished 10-3 at #6 singles.

Coach AJ Segneri will look to returnees Phoebe Milner and Jackie Ward plus junior UW-Whitewater transfer Janette Taylor and freshman Emily McCormick to fill the void.
