WATERTOWN, Wis.- Coach Ryan Middendorf would rather not have the NAC schedule set up this way with CUW facing weaker opposition at the start of the conference season, "but that's the way it is and we will use these matches to keep preparing for the most difficult challenges on the schedule," explained Middendorf.
After backing off early in an 11-0 win over Rockford, CUW needed to employ similar strategy in a 12-0 conquest of Maranatha Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman Carley Pfannerstill (Grafton, Wis.) began the onslaught seven minutes into the match via an assist from Chelsea Driver (Sr./ Greenwood, Ind.) ...and the floodgates opened shortly thereafter.
The score read 9-0 at the break as CUW outshot the Crusaders 50-1.
Freshman Faith Palmreuter (Frankenmuth, Mich.) led the Concordia attack with three goals and an assist. Pfannerstill, Alyssa Ciesielczyk (Sr./ Waukesha, Wis.), and freshman Jaclyn Theune (Oostburg, Wis.) each tallied twice.
CUW hosts regionally-ranked St. Norbert on Thursday at 5:00pm in a non conference matchup.
