Mequon, Wis. -- Concordia battled back from a 1-0 deficit to tie the game near the end of regulation, but it was Lake Forest that managed the golden goal in the second overtime to take home a 2-1 win.
The visiting Foresters got on the board less than 15 minutes into the match when Lisa Sorensen tallied unassisted.
CUW, which had the better of play for most of regulation, outshot their guests throughout but were unable to get the equalizer until sophomore Ashley Apazeller (Jackson, Wis.) found teammate Lauren Straehler (junior, Pewaukee, Wis.) unmarked at 69:16.
Neither team scored in the first overtime but Lake Forest began to take control of the midfield and got the game-winner just two minutes into the second OT when the ever-present Sorensen assisted on Charlotte deTar's score.
