Aurora defeats CUW women 4-0

Aurora, IL

"For periods during the match today we played very well, but it was certainly not consistent enough, explained Coach Ryan Middendorf following CUW's one-sided 4-0 loss at Aurora.

With 18 minutes remaining in the first half, junior midfielder Sami Dykema was able to send a ball past the Falcon defense where freshman forward Sarah Boniface would take over and finish the play with what proved to be the only goal needed. It was all Aurora from that point on.

" When we play the top teams in our conference we can't afford the inconsistencies we've had in the last two matches. We have the talent to be considered among the top in the conference, but we just haven't demonstrated it yet," added Middendorf.

"Unfortunately, the NAC season is finished within a blink of an eye, so our backs are against wall (0-2-0) and we have to figure it out quickly. Huge week in front of us...MSOE on Tuesday, Lake Forest on Thursday, and Benedictine on Saturday.

The host Spartans, now 5-2-0 overall, outshot CUW 28-9.
