Bethel sprints past CUW 6-1 in women’s soccer opener

Minneapolis

Falcon women's soccer coach Ryan Middendorf struggled to put a positive spin on the season opening 6-1 loss at Bethel yesterday afternoon.

"Bethel is an excellent team from a quality conference. Their team speed and quick counterattack certainly gave us fits all day... and that is disappointing."

The hosts scored their first goal twelve minutes into the contest and led 3-0 before Kelli Bolli got Concordia on the scoreboard at 27:00. It was 4-1 at the break and Bethel continued to dominate second half action, holding CUW to just one shot on goal in the final 40 minutes.

"We have a lot of work to do in the upcoming days", confided Middendorf, "but I saw moments of quality play that I'm certain will become more consistent."
