MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Concordia University Wisconsin won four of the first six bouts at Cornell College on Friday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the Rams pulled away for a 25-12 dual meet victory inside the Richard and Norma Center.
Junior Sean Ambrocio (San Antonio, Texas) and senior Marcus Lubner (Fredonia, Wis.) each won by decision in their respective bouts to put the Falcons in front 6-0. The Rams answered with a decision win and a win by forfeit to take a 9-6 lead.
CC (7-2) showed why its ranked 17th in the country, as it earned a pin and major decision win at 174 and 184 pounds, before a pair of decision wins ended the 16-0 scoring run.
CUW returns to the mat on Thursday for a home dual against North Central College at 7 p.m. inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
