Women’s Lacrosse drops a thriller to Robert Morris
BENSENVILLE,
Ill. -- Natasha Carlton's goal with 2:57 remaining broke a
10-10 tie and allowed Robert Morris University to defeat Concordia
University Wisconsin by the slimmest of margins Friday night.
The Falcons, who led 5-4 at halftime, had tied the
game for one final time on a goal by freshman Alina Zibutus
(Naperville, Ill.) with 4:42 remaining before Carlton's
game-winner.
Freshman Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) scored five
times for CUW and Zibutus added four. Statistics were
as even as the final score with RMU owning a 28-26 shot advantage
and a 17-15 margin in ground balls.
The Falcons actually forced the the Eagles into 16
turnovers while commiting nine.
The Falcons (1-7) host the Pacific University at
10:30am Saturday morning at Fitting Field.
