NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin freshman Sammi Reiter was named Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Newcomer of the Year, the league office announced Monday morning.
The Stillwater, Minn., native led the Falcons in almost every offensive statistical category, and set eight game, single season and career records. Reiter also helped CUW to a program record three victories, including the first-ever in program history, a 10-6 win over Fontbonne University at Fitting Field on March 25.
The 5-foot-6 righty owns the single season and career records in points (57), goals (53), shots attempted (91), shots on goal (70), draw controls (43), caused turnovers (15), man-up goals (3) and free-position goals (7).
Reiter also twice scored seven goals in a contest, both of which are tied for the single game program record which she owns. She also led the MWLC in goals per game (3.79) and was second in points per game (4.07).
Reiter was also named to the MWLC First Team, the first CUW women's lacrosse player to ever earn all-conference recognition.
