MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin women's hockey team missed out on a spot in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs, but the Falcons still earned some individual accolades.
Freshman Emily Heckendorf was named to the Second Annual NCHA All-Rookie team, as voted on by the conference's coaches. Heckendorf, who also earned Honorable Mention All-NCHA honors, began the season as a forward, and finished tied for second on the team with 15 points.
In the season's latter stages however, the Merrill, Wis. native began playing more as a defenseman, and was voted onto the All-Rookie team as such.
CUW closed out their season last weekend, finishing with a 7-15-3 overall record.
