Women's Golf wins triangular with Wisconsin Lutheran, Lakeland

FRANKLIN, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin placed golfers in the top five spots of the Wisconsin Lutheran College Triangular on Thursday afternoon at the par 71, 5,897 yard Whitnall Park Golf Course.

Freshman Nina Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) took individual medalist honors with a 19-over-par 90. Her teammates followed her strong play finishing in the next five spots. The Falcons shot a team score of 395, while host WLC shot 493 and Lakeland College had a 564.

Freshman Lexi Westphal (Brownsville, Ill.) carded a 26-over-par 97 to take sole possession of second place. Freshmen Emmy Dill (Bristol, Wis.) and Emily Stephenson (Ashland, Wis.) each fired 99s to tie for third place. Freshmen Amanda Chmiel (Grafton, Wis.) and Madalyn Joannes (Wauwatosa, Wis.) each tied for fifth after shooting a 109.

WLC was led by Rachael Wendt's 41-over-par 112, while Krystina Cook and TaVea Peterson paced LC with a 119.

CUW and WLC will compete again on Friday afternoon in Mequon, Wis., at Mee-Kwon Golf Course.
