Women's Basketball falls in CIT title game

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Concordia University Wisconsin dropped an 89-37 to Concordia University Nebraska on Saturday afternoon in the 64th Annual Concordia Invitational Tournament. The Falcons have played in the championship game five times over the last 11 years.

Freshman Brianna Wagner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) led the Falcons with 11 points, all in the first half, six rebounds and a steal. Wagner was selected to the CIT All-Tournament team for her two-game effort. Junior Madelyn Landgraf (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) added 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

CUW ended the game shooting just 22.0 percent (11-of-50) for the game, while CUNE (ranked No. 3 in NAIA) was 45.7 percent (32-of-70) from the field. The Falcons stole 11 passes and forced 20 turnovers.

CUW returns to action on Tuesday at 7 pm in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
