Landherr First Team selection highlights All-NAC Softball Awards

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Senior infielder Cara Landherr was named First Team All-Northern Athletics Conference as she highlighted four Concordia University Wisconsin Softball players who received All-Conference recognition, which was announced by the league Thursday.

Landherr (Waukesha, Wis.) was named the first-baseman on the First Team after leading the conference in home runs (13) and RBIs (55) this season. She also ranked fourth in the conference in slugging percentage (.814) and finished eighth in batting average (.415). Landherr also posted a .993 fielding percentage at first base in her first season at the position.

All together the Falcons placed four players on All-Conference teams as juniors Stephanie Kramer and Mariah Giesseman were named to the Second Team, while senior catcher Abbie Goetsch received Honorable Mention recognition.

"I would like to congratulate our four players on making All-Conference teams," says Falcons head coach Steve Crook. "I am very proud of both our team accomplishments as well as individual successes we have accomplished this year."

Kramer (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and Giesseman (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) earned All-NAC Second Team honors at outfield and third base, respectively. Kramer finished the season with a .426 batting average, which ranked seventh in the conference. She finished with 46 hits, including seven doubles, four triples and two home runs, as well as driving in 29 runs. Kramer did all of this while playing several positions including right field, left field and second base.

Giesseman also totaled 46 hits for the Falcons this season while playing tremendous defense at the hot corner. The junior roped eight doubles and added three home runs while driving in 25 runs for CUW. Giesseman finished the season with a .371 batting average and .524 slugging percentage.

Rounding out the CUW All-NAC selections was Goetsch. Goetsch (Grayslake, Ill.) tied for sixth in the NAC with six home runs, while adding a .383 batting average and .617 slugging percentage. She totaled 41 hits and drove in 24 runs, while playing solid defense from the catcher position after moving over from first base prior to the season.
