CHICAGO, Ill.- Falcon pitching dominated Concordia University Chicago on Saturday as CUW posted 8-2 and 8-0 wins to improve to 4-0 in Northern Athletics Conference play.

Game One

In Saturday's first game, the host Cougars battled to a 2-2 tie for the intital three innings before Steve Crook's team took control.

CUW's game-changing 4th actually included only one hit, but that was a two run single by freshman Jessica Liszka (Lindenhurst, Ill.) that followed a trio of walks and a sacrifice fly by senior Cara Landherr (Waukesha, Wis.) that plated the inning's first run.

That 5-2 lead grew to 8-2 as the Falcons plated a single run on the fifth on pair of Cougar errors and added two more in the 7th when junior Holly Zinnecker (Roscoe, Ill.) and Landherr blasted triples.

Sophomore Jamie Schuh (Freedom, Wis.) got the win to imprrove to 5-3 on the season with a complete game performance.

Game Two

A six run Falcon fifth broke open a 2-0 pitcher's duel and ended Saturday's second game prematurely via the 8 run rule.

CUW banged out 11 hits with Zinnecker, Chelsie Strosina, Abbie Goetsch, and Jannelle Schroder getting two each.

Senior Falcon hurler Danielle Burke (Burlington, Wis.) improved to 4-3 with the three hit shutout performance.

Crook's team, now 9-9 on the season, travels to Benedictine for another twin bill on Sunday.
