Men's Track & Field finishes third at NACC Indoor Championships

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team placed third at the NACC Indoor Championships Saturday, hosted by UW-Parkside.

Tyler White (Milwaukee, Wis.) was named the Co-Field Athlete of the Meet after earning a pair of first-place finishes. The sophomore topped the field in both the long jump and triple jump on Saturday, scoring 20 points for the Falcons. He leaped 6.82 meters in the long jump and recorded a mark of 13.92 meters in the triple jump. White's mark in the triple jump has him ranked 34th in the nation and was also an impressive PR for the sophomore.

The Falcons had one more first-place finish as Josh Lehr (Appleton, Wis.) was the medalist in the pole vault. Lehr cleared 4.10 meters for his win, while Bathong Pham (Milwaukee, Wis.) placed fourth in the event, clearing 4.95 meters.

The CUW throwers were paced by Andrew Faber (Germantown, Wis.) as he placed second in the weight throw, tossing 16.53 meters. Faber added a fourth-place finish in the shot put, while his teammate Frank Jesse Long (Elwood, Ill.) finished fifth.

On the track, freshman Jake Roy (Appleton, Wis.) continued his impressive rookie season with a pair of top-six finishes. Roy was second in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 51.91, while he finished sixth in the 200-meter dash. His 400-meter time marked a PR as he broke 52 secons for the first time. Another freshman, Silas Hasselbrook (Missoula, Mont.) placed third in the 200 at 23.44 seconds. Hasselbrook also finished seventh in the 55-meter hurdles. Bobby Russ (Wauwatosa, Wis.) placed sixth in the 400, while posting a PR in the event.

In the 800-meter run junior Mike Prue (Kenosha, Wis.) ran to a second-place finish as he completed the race, posting a 1:58.98. Brandon Goesch (Germantown, Wis.) added a strong finish in the 800, running a 1:59.75 for fourth place.

Pham also competed in the 55-meter dash Saturday, finishing fifth, while the Falcons had a few scores in the distance events. Adam Fell (Mundelein, Ill.) placed sixth in the mile, while Robert Meilbeck (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) was sixth in the 5K with a PR in the event. Michael Taylor (Denmark, Wis.) added a seventh-place finish in the 3K for the Falcons.

The 4X400-meter relay team of Goesch, Hasselbrook, Prue and Roy placed second, while the distance medley team comprised of Nathan Hasenstein (Sheboygan, Wis.), Logan Hass (Manawa, Wis.), Alex Rosenau (Van Dyne, Wis.) and Brennan Linse (Jefferson, Wis.) placed fourth in the distance medley relay.

It was an impressive all-around day for the Falcons as over 40% of the teams performances resulted in a PR. 

Aurora captured the championship Saturday, while MSOE finished in second just ahead of the Falcons. Deon Conway of Aurora was both the Athlete of the Meet and Freshman of the Meet.
