Coop earns NACC weekly award after first-place finish in 5,000-meter run

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin junior distance runner Andrew Coop has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of Feb. 3-9. The conference announced its weekly awards on Monday, which are selected by the league's sports information directors.

Coop (Mora, Minn.) ran a personal-best 15:40.83 in the 5,000-meter run at the Keck Invitational last Saturday. He topped the other 11 competitors in the field and has the second fastest time in the NACC in the event this season. His run helped earn the Falcons 10 points as they finished sixth as a team at the event.

Coop and the Falcons will return to action this weekend when the take part in the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
