Men's Track & Field competes at Eagle Invitational
LISLE, Ill. - Concordia University Wisconsin's Men's Track & Field team traveled to Benedictine's Eagle Invitational this past weekend. It was a big meet with over 20 teams in attendance making for steep competition.
Junior Martin Hinze (Bourbonnais, Ill.) had another strong day, setting a new school record and finishing in eighth place out of 89 runners in the 1500 meter run. Hinze's time of 3:59.74 puts him at the top of the NAC with eight seconds of cushion over second place.
In throws sophomore William Sommer (Germantown, Wis.) broke the 12 meter mark with a toss of 12.11 meters. Placing just behind him was sophomore Jake Kroll (Germantown, Wis.) with a PR toss of 11.92 meters.
Other PRs included freshman Alex Rosenau (Van Dyne, Wis.) in the 1500 meter run (4:30.7), freshman Michael Prue (Kenosha, Wis.) in the 400 (50.68), freshman Bathong Pham (Milwaukee, Wis.) in the pole vault and 200m (3.04and 23.79), freshman Trent Pacheco (Iron Mountain, Mich.) in the 400 (54.97), freshman Damon Nick (Slinger, Wis.) in 400 hurdles (59.46), freshman Frank Jesse Long (Elwood, Ill.) in the hammer throw (37.25), freshman Johann Hink (Cedarburg, Wis.) in the 1500 (4:39.5), freshman Ben Kempen (Malone, Wis.) in discus (26.13), and sophomore Ryan Billman (Fond du Lac, Wis.) in the 100 (11.85).
Next weekend the Falcons will travel to Cedarville University for the All-Comers Open on Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
