Men's Track & Field concludes indoor season at Pointer Final Qualifier
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's men's track & field team concluded its indoor season at the Pointer Final Qualifier Saturday as it had five athletes compete in the meet.
Sophomore Andrew Faber (Germantown, Wis.) and freshman Mike Prue (Kenosha, Wis.) each set school records for the Falcons. Faber earned his school record in the weight throw as he threw 15.5 meters. Prue competed in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in a school-best time of 1:57.41.
CUW had one other runner compete besides Prue as junior Martin Hinze (Bourbonnais, Ill.) placed third in the 3,000-meter run. Hinze ran his race in a time of 9:07.15.
The Falcons also had two freshmen compete in field events as Tyler White (Milwaukee, Wis.) jumped 6.56 meters in the long jump, while Frank Jesse Long (Elwood, Ill.) took part in the shot put and recorded a throw of 13.76 meters.
The Falcons will now be off until the outdoor season begins April 5 at the Rex Foster Invitational on the campus of UW-Whitewater.
