STEVENS POINT, Wis. - In their final meet before NAC Indoor Championships next weekend, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's and women's track & field teams competed in the Eastbay/Pointer Invitational at UW-Stevens Point on Saturday.
University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh took first place in both men's and women's competition, finishing with 162.5 points on the women's side, along with 116.5 on the men's side.
CUW finished 13th in the women's competition with five points, and placed 10th on the men's side with 17 points.On the women's side, the Falcons only top 10 finish came in the 4x200 Relay, where the team of Alexandra Garcia, Jennifer Hamilton, Lauren Frisque, and Emily Mauermann placed fourth with a time of 1:51.79.
For the men, Alex Pawlak placed third in the 60m Hurdles finals after posting the top qualifying time. His preliminary time of 8.35 seconds set a new school record, and Pawlak now ranks 14th nationally in NCAA Div. III in the event. Also finishing in the top ten was CUW's Martin Hinze, who finished eighth in the 3000M Run with a time of 9:29.80.
Next up for the Falcons is the Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Championships, which will take place on Saturday in Kenosha, Wis.
