Tom Weber directed the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis team to an impressive six Lake Michigan Conference and six Northern Athletics Conference championships during his 15 years at the helm of the program. The Falcons also reached the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons.
Weber stepped down as head coach of the Men's Tennis program prior to the 2014-15 season, but will remain with the program as an assistant coach.
In 2013, Weber guided CUW to its
27th-straight NACC match win as they have not lost in conference
play since the 2010 season. Four players earned All-NAC honors,
including Player of the Year Russell Johnson, while Weber won NACC
Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time in the seven-year
history of the league. The Falcons NACC winning streak was snapped
at 31 wins midway through the 2014 season.
Weber completed his undergraduate work in 1980 at Concordia College in Seward, Neb., where he majored in mathematics and physical education, and minored in chemistry. In addition to his academic pursuits, he participated in interscholastic tennis and football.
After graduation in 1980, he served eight years teaching math and science at Cleveland Lutheran High School in Ohio, while pursuing a Master's Degree in mathematics at Akron University. As well, Weber coached football, basketball, and track & field.
Weber spent 10 years from 1988-1998 at Concordia University Ann Arbor (Mich.) as an assistant professor of mathematics. His coaching pursuits had to be put on hold for this tenure while he earned his Ph.D. in mathematics education at Wayne State University.
He is presently an associate professor of mathematics and an United States Professional Tennis Association Certified Professional Coach and has served as the men's tennis head coach at Concordia University Wisconsin since 1999.
