Men's Tennis ends spring trip with setback against Nebraska Wesleyan
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis team finished its spring trip with an 8-1 setback against Nebraska Wesleyan University Friday morning at the Beach and Tennis Courts.
The Falcons win came at No. 1 singles where senior Russell Johnson (Monticello, Minn.) downed Lucas Asnis. Johnson edged Asnis 7-6 (10-4) in the first set before finishing off his match with a 6-1 win in set two.
The remaining five singles matches and three doubles contests all went in favor of the Wolves. The singles matches were all in straight sets, although junior Benjamin Nommensen (Waupaca, Wis.) did force a tiebreaking point in the second set of his No. 3 singles match.
CUW (2-10) will have a week off before playing in the Concordia Invitational Tournament next Friday in St. Louis.
