WAUKESHA, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin junior Russell Johnson has been named the Northern Athletics Conference Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for events of April 8-14, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Johnson (Monticello, Wis.) was a perfect 3-0 in both singles and doubles play, leading the Falcons (8-8, 5-0 NAC) to three conference wins. The junior won all three of his matches at No. 1 singles, winning all in straight sets. He played one doubles match each at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 doubles this week, going 3-0 in the process.
The award was the second straight for the Falcons and third of the season. Junior Skip Turner (Eau Clair, Wis.) won last week's honor, while Johnson netted a weekly award earlier this season.
Johnson and the Falcons will be back in action Friday when they compete in the Concordia Invitational Tournament in St. Louis.
