Falcon male netters swing into action
MEQUON, Wis.- Fresh off an undefeated (9-0) conference season in 2011, CUW will look to improve on their 15-12 overall record from a year ago by earning some victories against high quality non conference opposition.
Senior Brian Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) will move up to #1 singles after an 18-13 overall record (11-11) in singles play last season at #2.
Concordia's number two spot in their non-conference opener was manned by sophomore Skip Turner (Eau Claire, Wis.) who was 21-10 overall last season and 18-7 in singles play.
Russell Johnson, who is competing for the Falcon hockey team, will probably be the #3 singles player for Coach Tom Weber when his current season concludes. Johnson was 10-2 in singles last year, and had a glossy 16-5 mark overall.
Junior Taylor Shaffer (Stoughton, Wis.), 5-14 in 2011, competed at #3 singles for CUW against Carroll. Sophomore Nathan Hoeppner (Watertown, Wis.), 9-10 a year ago at #6, competed at #4 in the lid-lifter.
Sophomore Tanner Hahn (Reedsville, Wis.) and freshman Eric Vogel (Roselle, Ill.) competed at #5 and #6 respectively in Concordia's non-conference opener and may battle for the #6 singles spot.
The Falcons do not open their NAC conference season until April 5th when they travel to MSOE, but have a dozen non-conference dates prior to that.
