Jeff Roberts just completed his third season as the men's lacrosse head coach at Concordia University Wisconsin. Roberts has guided the Falcons to 26 wins during its first three seasons, including a trip to the Midwest Lacrosse Conference during the 2012 season.
He has coached 17 student-athletes who have earned All-MLC honors, including nine during the 2013 season. Roberts was also tabbed MLC Coach of the Year for his efforts after the 2012 campaign.
In the program's inaugural season
the Falcons finished 8-6 overall and 3-5 in the MLC. The Falcons
have posted back-to-back 9-7 marks over the past two seasons.
Roberts came to CUW from Mars Hill College (Mars Hill, N.C) where he was an assistant with the Lions. Not coincidentally, his last season there was the best in MHC history.
Prior to that stint, Roberts served as the men's lacrosse head coach at Arapahoe High School (Centennial, Colo.), a perennial powerhouse in Colorado high school lacrosse. Under his direction the AHS lacrosse program had many successes, including quarterfinal and semifinal appearances in the Colorado State Tournament. AHS finished with a 28-8 record under Roberts' direction.
He is no stranger to collegiate athletics, having served as a collegiate coach for over 13 years. His most recent position was at the University of Vermont where he was the top assistant. While in Burlington, Vt., he directed an offense that ranked 20th nationally in Division I.
His other Division I experience was at Dartmouth College, a member of the Ivy League. While at DC, Roberts served as assistant offensive coordinator and coached several All-Ivy League and All-America players.
Before moving to the Division I ranks, he honed his skills at Mercyhurst College (Erie, Pa.), a NCAA Division II institution. From 1999 to 2003 he served as the top assistant and directed the Lakers offense, helping them advance to the Division II semifinals.
Roberts began coaching collegiately at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the spring of 1995 after graduating from Springfield College (Springfield, Mass.) in the fall of 1994. Following Skidmore he served at Colorado College (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and at Drew University (Madison, N.J.) as an assistant before moving on to Mercyhurst College.
