Men’s Lacrosse hosts Wittenberg in home opener Saturday
Game Notes: vs. Wittenberg University
MEQUON, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin's
men's lacrosse team hosts Wittenberg University on Saturday at 1
p.m. in their home opener of the 2012 season. It is also the
second-straight NCAA Tournament opponent for the Flacons to begin
the season.

CUW began its season on Feb. 25 with a hard-fought
17-5 defeat at Ohio Wesleyan University. The Falcons received an
impressive performance from sophomore goalkeeper Zack Davis (La
Porte, Ind.) who stopped 14 shot attempts. In addition, freshman
Derek Brueske (Hopkins, Minn.) scored a pair of goals to lead the
Falcons.
Saturday's game will be the earliest home opener for
CUW. Last season its first-ever game played at home was on April 2
against Trine University, a 9-4 victory.
WU opened the 2012 campaign with a 9-8 victory at home
over Sewanee: The University of the South last Saturday. The Tigers
were led by Jim Ferris, Andrew Morrison and Alex Previte who each
scored a pair of goals.
WU has had a lot of recent success, advancing to the
NCAA Tournament the last two seasons and earning a North Coast
Athletic Conference title a year ago. The Tigers return nine
seniors, including All-NCAC performers Alex Previte and Michael
Cocking.
