Falcon lacrosse to scrimmage against D1 competition
Mequon, Wis. -- The
Concordia University Wisconsin men's lacrosse team will
conclude their non-traditional season next weekend in Ann Arbor,
Michigan, facing off against two formidable Division I
opponents. The Falcons were
invited to participate in the inaugural Wolverine Fall Brawl on the
University of Michigan campus. Matches will be played in the
storied "Big House" against the host Wolverines and the Friars of
Providence College. This event will be the first of its kind
because Michigan lacrosse made the jump from club to Division I
status this past summer.
It will be a unique
experience for all teams involved, but especially for the young
Falcons who are just a second year program. CUW finished their
inaugural D.3 season with a mark of 8-6.
"I am excited for the journey
that is about to begin," head coach Jeff Roberts said. "Our
philosophy is to allow our kids to grow and have fun every day that
they are here at CUW. What better way to conclude our fall season
than throwing our young team into the frying pan against two great
teams. We will not only learn much about our team that day, but we
are also so lucky to be part of this unique opportunity presented
to us by Wolverines' head coach John Paul and his staff. It is an experience that I know
that we will remember for the rest of my life."
