HANCOCK, Mich. – Jack Romanuik stopped all 16 shots he faced and the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team scored once in each period for a 3-0 road NCHA win at Finlandia Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Falcons to 3-1 on the season, and 1-1 in league play.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 3, Finlandia 0
- Location: Houghton County Arena – Hancock, Michigan
- Records: CUW 3-1, 1-1 NCHA; Finlandia 0-2, 0-2 NCHA

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons dominated puck possession throughout as Romanuik (Melfort, Saskatchewan) faced just 16 shots, while CUW ripped off 41 of its own. Marcus Gloss stopped 38 shots for the Lions.

- CUW got the scoring started midway through the first period on the first career collegiate goal from freshman Matt Valure (Hermantown, Minn.). Freshman Braydon Barker (Red Deer, Alberta) assisted on the Valure score.

- Barker tallied the Falcons second goal of the afternoon, scoring 8:32 into the second period. Taylor Gauld (Whitby, Ontario) picked up the assist to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Falcons.

- Dante Hahn (Victoria, British Columbia) made the score 3-0 late in the third period, scoring a power play goal with 4:07 remaining. Jim Pearson (Ashton, Ontario) and Josh Adkins (Victoria, British Columbia) added assists on the game's final score.

- The Falcons finished the game 1-for-4 on the power play thanks to the Hahn score in the third period. Finlandia had five chances on the power play but the CUW penalty kill unit was outstanding Saturday, killing all five of the Lions power plays.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The shutout is the first of Romanuik's collegiate career. CUW had two shutouts in 2016-17, one by Chase Hollander and the other by Nick Malvin.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will play two NCHA contests at home next weekend. The first of those is set for Friday night as CUW welcomes St. Scholastica to the Ozaukee Ice Center for a 7:30 p.m. start.
