Romanuik secures NCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Sophomore goaltender Jack Romanuik has been named the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the events of November 7-13, the league office announced Tuesday.

Romanuik (Melfort, Saskatchewan) posted a .907 save percentage in two wins over Finlandia last weekend, helping the Falcons move to 3-0-1 in their last four games. He totaled 49 saves in the two road victories.

Romanuik opened the series with a 23-save performance in a 5-2 win Friday night. He followed that up with a 26-save game in a 4-3 win, helping the Falcons move to 3-2-1 on the season.

Romanuik and the Falcons will be back in action this weekend with a pair of non-conference home games. CUW will host No. 15 UW-Eau Claire Friday night before welcoming UW-Stout to the Ozaukee Ice Center Saturday evening. Both games are set for a 7 p.m.
