Bayer's four points secure NCHA Defensive Player of the Week award
WAUKESHA, Wis. – Senior defenseman Brandon Bayer of the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team has been named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week for the events of November 25-December 1, the league announced Tuesday.
Bayer (Milwaukee, Wis.) recorded two assists in each of the Falcons games against Bethel University last weekend. CUW tied with the Royals Friday night, 5-5, before winning 4-2 on Saturday to secure the first annual Thanksgiving Cup.
He now has six points this season, all coming from assists and has five points over his last four games. He has played in all 10 games for the Falcons this season and ranks fifth in program history with 79 games played throughout his career.
Bayer and the Falcons will return to action this weekend when they visit Finlandia University for a NCHA weekend series. CUW and Finlandia will play Saturday at 6:00 pm CST and Sunday afternoon at 1:15 p.m.
