Falcons get a tie at Northland
Ashland
After falling behind 4-0 in the first period, Concordia switched
goal tenders and appeared to be a different team from that point on
as they rallied for a 6-6 road tie.
Joseph Greg Douglas finally got Concordia on the board at 14:55 of
the first, but Northland scored again early in the second session
to go up 5-1 and it appeared that a rout similar to Friday night's
affair was in the making.
Not so fast! Another Douglas goal made it 5-2 before Jonathan
Smith and Bradley Lukasz scored within a minute of each other to
cut the deficit to 5-4 at the end of the second period.
Northland pushed their lead to 6-4 at 6:02 of the third but
Concordia was not done. Andrew Dammen and Stephen Panas lit the
lamp at 16:00 and 17:22 to salvage the tie. Goalie Michael Wyenn
stopped 18 of 19 shots after coming on in relief for CUW.
