Falcon golfers tied for 6th after 1st NAC Round

HAVEN, Wis.- Weekend rain limited the fall portion of the NAC Men's Golf Championships to a single 18 hole round that was played Monday at the Whistling Straits Irish Course.

Edgewood leads the event by a single stroke (312-313) over MSOE.  CUW's 335 team tally is tied for 6th, but we will have to wait a LONG time to determine a winner.

The second round of the tourney has been postponed to the spring at Whistling Straits with the third and fourth rounds at Stonebridge C.C. in Aurora, Illinois next April.

Concordia Wisconsin's Chris Payne (Sr./ Franklin, Wis.) made the most of Monday's conditions, firing a 79 to tie for 10th place individually.  Eric Hertel's (So./ Waukesha, Wis.) 81 tied for 17th.

Cameron Herdt's (Fr./ Ocomonomowoc, Wis.) 83 was also competitive, but Jason Meyer, (Fr./ Dunlap, Ill.) the fourth Falcon counter, struggled to finish with a 92.

Matt Lewellyn of Lakeland and Kenny Rucker of Edgewood were co-medalists for day 1 with rounds of 74.
